Press encounter with CNN upon leaving UN headquarters (unofficial transcript)
Press events | Kofi Annan, Former Secretary-General
SG: Well, we've just started a discussion. It's a two-day discussion. We have all afternoon and all day tomorrow. So I would prefer not to make any predictions at this stage. But as I said, we started off quite well this morning.
Q: And do you think that talking in a different city other than New York helps matters? Different venue; different atmosphere at all?
SG: It doesn't change - this is a much more comfortable conference room than my office. It doesn't change the substance or the topic. But maybe a change of venue brings inspiration. We shall see.
Q: But it still sounds like there are some of the same old problems, questions.
SG: Absolutely. Some of the same issues and questions are there and we will see how we are able to crack them between now and tomorrow. *****
