The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) took part in a workshop on the protection of “soft” targets against terrorist attacks, held in Tokyo on 24 and 25 April 2018 by the United States and U.S.-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration (US-ATAARI), under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Counter-Terrorism Working Group.

On 24 and 25 January 2018, a workshop on information and communications technologies (ICT) and counter-terrorism (CT) was held in Bangkok. Co-hosted by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and Thailand, this was the 2nd Asia ICT and CT Dialogue involving the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) with a focus on exploring practical ways to strengthen the implementation of all relevant Security Council resolutions in this area.

On 11 January 2018, the 13th Regional workshop for judges, prosecutors, and police officers on effectively countering terrorism in South Asia concluded after three full days. The workshop, which was held in Bangkok Thailand, was organized by the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), in cooperation with the Global Center on Cooperative Security, with financial support from the Governments of Japan and Australia.
For three days, representatives of the economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum met in Santiago, Chile, to analyze the sanctions regimes of the Security Council of the United Nations related to terrorism and terrorist financing.
The Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) facilitated a workshop on “Strengthening Community Engagement in Implementing Security Council resolutions 1624 (2005) and 2178 (2014) and the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy” in Tunis, Tunisia, from 19 to 20 July 2017.
