Capacity-building programmes related to the development and management of marine and coastal protected areas, to the conservation and monitoring of endangered and threatened coastal and marine species and key habitats, and to monitoring issues dealing with climate change and biodiversity developed and implemented, including pilots to support efforts aimed at MPA/SPAMI establishment and implementation.
Objectives:
Supporting base for training provided by Interoperable observatory platform integrating networks of marine environment and maritime activity observing and forecasting systemsacross the Mediterranean basin, addressing both the open sea and the coastal zone, with trained practitioners at national levels to operate it. The results of the capacity building evaluation study (made in 2017) consolidated into a strategy on capacitybuilding on the conservation of Mediterranean marine biodiversity

1. Organise training of practitioners to follow observatories of the Mediterranean related to biodiversity and human activities and related impacts in marine and coastal areas, 3. Strengthen and enhance capacity building activities on the conservation of Mediterranean marine biodiversity
