The Global Environment Facility as the financial mechanism of the Stockholm Convention
Objectives:
Provide adequate and sustainable financial resources to eligible Parties to assist in their implementation of the Stockholm Convention. The Global Environment Facility (GEF) functions under the authority and guidance of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention. The GEF does support some projects which also promote the implementation of the Basel and Rotterdam Conventions and the achievement of the targets of the Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management (SAICM).
