The President of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, met with H.E Miroslav Lajcak, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and former President of the General Assembly (72nd session). Both leaders exchanged on the main ongoing issues in the UN and in the General Assembly, most notably on the revitalization process, for which Slovakia is a co-facilitator. The President of the General Assembly draw the attention of his interlocutor to the priority that represents education and the need for a global forum for teachers, as well as to the links between zero hunger and poverty eradication. Both welcomed the fact that the Sustainable Development Goals are increasingly present on many fronts, but reminded that they must be tackled in a comprehensive and coherent way, none withstanding their importance and relevance when taken individually. This strive for coherence is particularly relevant in the context of UN@75.
