The President of the 72nd session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, H.E. Ms. María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar. They discussed the President’s priorities for the 72nd session, including migration, peace and conflict prevention, sustainable development, and United Nations reforms.
They also exchanged views on Colombia’s experience with respect to peacemaking. Underlining the inspiring nature of the peace process in Colombia, the President encouraged all parties to remain committed to it as the country moves towards reintegrating former FARC-EP members into civilian life.
The President emphasized that the international community must remain united in supporting Colombia in the implementation of the peace process.
They also discussed current developments in the region.
