International Day of Peace: Volunteering for Peacebuilding and Sustaining Peace in West and Central Africa


With ongoing violent conflicts and tensions in many parts of the world, the United Nations Secretary General’s Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) is scaling up its efforts to build and sustain peace while developing partnerships with organizations such as the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, to support peacebuilding initiatives in conflict-affected situations across the world.

Adopting Resolution 2419 (2018), Security Council Calls for Increasing Role of Youth in Negotiating, Implementing Peace Agreements


Recognizing the role youth could play in conflict prevention and resolution, the Security Council today urged the Secretary‑General and his Special Envoys to take their views into account in security‑related discussions, and to facilitate their equal and full participation at decision‑making levels.

EU's Youth, Peace and Security event to focus on youth in promoting peace & security


The youth population of the world is estimated 1.8 billion, the largest it has ever been. The crucial role that youth can play in promoting peace, security and peacebuilding will be the subject of an EU conference on "Youth, Peace and Security, Promoting Youth in Peace building" on 23-24 May in Brussels.
