At the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC IV), which took place in Istanbul in May 2011, the member States of the United Nations recognized the need to mobilize financial resources for development and capacity-building in order to support LDCs. LDCs committed to creating conditions for attracting investments and promoting private sector development to enhance productive capacities and advance human and social development. This special edition of UNCTAD’s Investment Policy Monitor aims to analyse the investment policy reform trends in LDCs since the Conference. Section A provides an overview of national investment policy trends, while Section B focuses on the international investment policy dimension.
