#CSocD53: Interview with Sir Richard Jolly

In 1995, the World Summit for Social Development was held in Copenhagen. The summit led to a global agenda for increased social progress, justice and the betterment of human condition. Last week, 20 years after the agenda was set, the Summit was commemorated during the 53rd session of the Commission for Social Development, which will also review progress made towards the Summit’s goals.

The session, taking place under the theme “Rethinking and strengthening social development in the contemporary world”, which kicked off on 4 February, also featured a high-level panel event, where Sir Richard Jolly, a leading development economist and professor at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, was one of the key speakers.
