The United Nations was founded in 1945 after the Second World War by 51 countries committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations, and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.
The Visitors’ Service of the United Nations Office at Nairobi was established in 2012 after a General Assembly decision to offer guided tours in the Nairobi complex. The guided tours service complements the existing UN Visitors’ Services in Geneva, New York and Vienna. We are part of the United Nations Information Centre Nairobi, which serves as a link between the UN and the general public in Kenya and the region.
Our knowledgable tour guides are available to show you around the complex, and give you information about the work of the UN. Please feel free to ask us anything you want to know about the United Nations.
