It’s the end of the year and Farms.Food.Future is looking to the year ahead with a new episode entitled "Putting our Money Where our Mouth Is".
We introduce a soon-to-be familiar face at the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), our new president, Alvaro Lario. Inducted into the position in October, Mr. Lario shares his plan for the agency in the upcoming year.
We then turn to Satu Santala, Vice-President of External Relations at IFAD. She talks to us about IFAD’s priorities for the upcoming funding cycle.
She also leads a conversation about the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development, a crucial network of donors tackling Global Goal 2: zero hunger.
Earlier this year, we spoke to donors about the platform and now we revisit these conversations to hear about the issues that matter most to them.
We look at the pressing issue of gender-based violence as the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence campaign concludes. We talk to a gender expert about the impact of this violence at the community level and ways we can address it.
We wrap up the episode with the third instalment of our Bangladesh series with Qasa Alom.

Farms.Food.Future is a monthly podcast produced by the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
Each one-hour episode, released on the last Monday of every month, has a different theme that speaks to the challenges concerning food security, the climate crisis, and fair livelihoods that are faced by the world’s poorest communities, and smallholder farmers from developing countries.
It includes interviews with experts, partners, and even some celebrities from the world of food….but, most importantly, Farms. Food. Future. talks to the farmers themselves.
