The United Nations is presently undertaking a selection exercise to fill three judicial vacancies in the United Nations Dispute Tribunal (UNDT) and five in the United Nations Appeals Tribunal (UNAT).

The UNDT, as the first instance internal United Nations court for employment-related disputes between the Organization and its staff members, together with the appellate instance UNAT, are part of the internal system of administration of justice at the United Nations established by the General Assembly in its resolutions 61/261, 62/228 and 63/253.

The composition of the UNDT and UNAT, the mandatory requirements for applicants to the judicial vacancies as well as information about the selection process are provided in the vacancy announcement.

The vacancy announcement calls for interested individuals to submit their applications by 28 February 2022.

Applications from women are strongly encouraged. Applications are sought on a wide geographic basis and candidates from the Asia-Pacific states are strongly encouraged to apply.

The vacancy announcement is posted on the website of the United Nations internal justice system:

The United Nations would greatly appreciate assistance in disseminating the vacancy announcement as widely as possible in order to attract a pool of outstanding candidates reflecting geographical diversity as well as gender balance.
