The Secretary-General’s Common Pledge on Women’s Participation in Peace Processes is a bold call for mediation actors to take concrete steps to advance women’s participation in the peace processes of which they are a part. This high-level event will spotlight the voices of women who have shaped peace processes as negotiators, civil society activists and mediators, and showcase how adopters of the Common Pledge are moving from commitment to concrete implementation across the Common Pledge’s four commitment areas.
Hear from:
- UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina J. Mohammed
- DPPA Assistant Secretary-General for Africa, Martha Ama A. Pobee
- UN Women Executive Director, Sima Bahous
- UN Global Advocate for Peace, Maryam Bukar Hassan
- Women mediators, negotiators and civil society
- Senior-level Adopters of the Common Pledge
This event is open to all adopters, civil society, and the public. Let’s build momentum to deliver on women’s meaningful participation in peace processes and advance the Secretary-General’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Goals for the Decade.
