Under the leadership of its President, H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang, Member States came together with resilience and determination to address the pressing challenges of our time, demonstrating the power of collective action in in advancing peace and security, human rights and sustainable development.

 Highlights of the session include:

  • The establishment of two new mechanisms to guide the future of artificial intelligence;
  • Renewed efforts to eliminate child labour;
  • Action to respond to the conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and beyond.

The 80th session of the UN General Assembly opens on 9 September 2025.
