Roberto Cuéllar has held the position of Executive Director of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica since October, 1999. He has been affiliated with the Institute since 1985. Dr. Cuéllar began his career in the field of human rights in 1975, in San Salvador, where he directed the Office of Juridical Assistance of Arzobispado.
