Now is the time for change

The UN Campaign for
Individual Action

COVID-19 has upended our lives. The way we work, the way we interact, the way we move about. This can be a turning point. Let’s seize the moment, and change course -- toward more sustainable lifestyles.

ActNow is the United Nations campaign for individual action on climate change and sustainability.
Every one of us can help limit global warming and take care of our planet. By changing our habits and making choices that have less harmful effects on the environment, we have the power to confront the climate challenge and build a more sustainable world.

Climate Superheroes cover

Climate change is a menace to our world. Our league of Climate Action Superheroes is taking action now and they want kids to join them! Empowering children to be heroic leaders for change and believe in the impact they can have on the planet is crucial. Our Superheroes aim to educate and engage children on how to help limit global warming and take care of our environment. Each of the missions has fun, downloadable content and activity packs. Meet the Superheroes here.

Cut your food waste

ActNow action card: cut your food waste

An estimated 931 million tonnes of food – 17% of all food available to consumers, or the equivalent of about 23 million fully loaded 40-tonne trucks – went into trash bins in 2019, while 690 million people around the world go hungry. Let’s stop the waste. When you throw food away, you’re also wasting the energy that was used in growing, producing, packaging and transporting it, causing CO2 emissions. Only buy what you need, and use what you have. Download the app and log your action!

Millions of people have joined the ActNow movement. You can too!
