Watch the MDG Success event live on UN Webcast

On September 23, 2013, the Secretary-General hosted a high-level forum to catalyze and accelerate further action to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and enrich the deliberations of the General Assembly on 24 and 25 September, and beyond.

The forum focused on concrete examples of scaling up success and identifying further opportunities. The event brought together examples from partnerships across the spectrum of the MDGs and the Secretary-General’s multi-stakeholder initiatives and movements, such as Every Woman Every Child, Sustainable Energy for All, Global Education First, Zero Hunger Challenge, the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, and the Call to Action on Sanitation.

Heads of State and Government, the President of the General Assembly, business CEOs, philanthropists and civil society leaders, as well as top UN and World Bank leadership presented their vision for matching ambitions with concrete mechanisms and resources.
