Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals

The Young Leaders for the SDGs are recognized for their leadership and contribution to a more sustainable world. As a community, they work to support efforts to engage young people in the realization of the SDGs both through strategic opportunities with the UN and through their existing initiatives, platforms and networks.

Be Seen, Be Heard

The Be Seen, Be Heard campaign recognizes at its core that young people have a vital role to play in the decisions that affect us all. That is why the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth and The Body Shop are collaborating on a global campaign to support young people’s political participation and amplify young voices in public life.

Close to 90 per cent of this youth population live in developing countries. What is more, their numbers are expected to continue to grow, especially in the least developed regions. With such numbers, it is clear that sustainable development and peace cannot be achieved unless we involve young people and create the conditions that allow them to reach and unleash their full potential.
