Are you a young person engaging with the UN, in an event, process or initiative?

Young voices are crucial to the UN's future! In this training, we aim to empower youth with essential knowledge about preventing and addressing harassment, discrimination and abuse of authority in UN settings, as well as prevention of intimidation and reprisals.

First launched in 2022, our interactive training has been updated with new content and is now available on the UN System Staff College website, making it more accessible than ever before.

This comprehensive training provides you with:

  • A clear understanding of your rights: You will learn about the UN's code of conduct, protection frameworks and your rights when engaging with UN spaces. Understand what constitutes appropriate behavior and what actions you can take if your rights are violated.
  • Practical safety guidelines: You will be provided with guidance for safely participating in UN events, whether online or in-person. Discover best practices for managing your public profile, protecting your privacy and navigating high-visibility situations.
  • Real-world scenarios and solutions: You will engage with interactive case studies based on real-life situations. Practice making informed decisions through scenario-based learning that prepares you for various challenges.
  • Direct access to support resources: Understand how you can connect with dedicated UN focal points and support services. Get immediate access to reporting mechanisms and learn how the UN's Reprisals Team can provide guidance and support with protection measures when needed.
  • Reporting mechanisms within the UN: Learn more about the process for reporting concerns or incidents. Understand when and how to use different reporting channels, including confidential options and emergency contacts for immediate support.

The interactive course is available at no cost in, Arabic, English, French and Spanish. It is accessible on mobile devices and optimized for low-bandwidth connection, so it can be completed at your own pace. To familiarize yourself with the platform, please watch the video tutorial in Arabic, English, French or Spanish.

This initiative is part of our commitment to creating safe and respectful environments for all young people engaging with the UN and in multilateral spaces, aligned with the Secretary-General's vision for meaningful youth participation.
