One more woman elected to the International Criminal Court
In the 9th round of voting on 7 February 2003 the 7th woman was elected judge: Anita Usacka, Latvia.
Six Women Elected to the International Criminal Court
The Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court started its process of electing judges on 4 February 2003. The Rome Statute provides for the election of 18 judges with a minimum voting requirement for six women and six men. The candidates that obtain the highest number of votes and a two-third majority of the States Parties present and voting are elected.
In the first round of voting on 4 February 2003, six women were elected as judges:
