Technology Needs Assessments

Technology Needs Assessments (TNAs) help Least Developed Countries (LDCs) identify the technologies and expertise needed to tackle key development challenges. They aim to strengthen innovation capacity, support structural transformation, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

TNAs:

  • Identify priority sectors where technology can drive the greatest impact.

  • Ensure proposed technologies align with national strategies and development levels.

  • Assess national STI ecosystems to gauge readiness for technology adoption and scaling.

  • Engage key stakeholders to reflect national priorities.

  • Recommend tailored solutions and capacity-building measures to bridge technological gaps.
