Readout of the Secretary-General’s telephone call with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey

The Secretary-General spoke by phone on Sunday morning to H.E. Mr. Recip Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey.

The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for President Erdogan’s mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine.

They discussed the different ongoing initiatives to bring an end to the conflict, as peace is the most important goal.

They also discussed issues related to nuclear security, as well as the impact of the conflict on food and energy security globally.
