　　2017年6月21日，联合国秘书长安东尼奥•古特雷斯任命来自俄罗斯联邦的弗拉基米尔•伊凡诺维奇•沃龙科夫为主管联合国反恐怖主义办公室副秘书长。联合国反恐怖主义办公室是根据2017年6月15日大会第71/291号决议设立的。

　　该副秘书长将为联合国反恐怖主义工作提供战略领导，参与联合国的决策进程，确保应对恐怖主义的跨领域根源和影响纳入联合国的工作范畴。

　　沃龙科夫先生在外交工作方面拥有30多年的经验，主要工作领域为联合国事务，工作内容包括公共外交、社会经济发展问题和政府间事务等。

　　沃龙科夫先生现任俄罗斯联邦驻维也纳各国际组织常驻代表。在他的领导下，俄罗斯联邦常驻代表团与联合国毒品和犯罪问题办公室（毒品和犯罪问题办公室）共同启动了几个旗舰项目，与该办公室的反恐处成功开展了协作。沃龙科夫先生还曾任职于国际原子能机构（原子能机构）理事会，并几次率代表团参加麻醉品委员会、预防犯罪和刑事司法委员会的工作。
