Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of Slovenia

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Miro Cerar, Prime Minister of Slovenia. The Secretary-General and Mr. Cerar discussed the recent developments in the Western Balkans, including the refugee and migrant crisis. The Secretary-General underlined the importance of a Europe-wide response and reaffirmed the support of the United Nations in meeting related challenges.

The Secretary-General congratulated Slovenia on its Chairmanship of the General Assembly’s Second Committee and noted the importance of discussions on the 2030 Agenda this fall.
