The Secretary-General met today with H. E. Ms. Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway.
The Secretary-General thanked Norway for its engagement in the post-2015 Sustainable Development process, as well as the leadership shown to reach the Addis Ababa Action Agenda. He also stressed the importance of establishing strong follow-up and review mechanisms.
The leaders also exchanged views on climate change.
Following their earlier discussions during the Secretary-General’s visit to the Oslo Summit on Education in July, the Secretary-General and Prime Minister Solberg also continued their ongoing exchange on the topic.
The leaders discussed the refugees from Syria and how the international community needed to do much more to alleviate their plight and to improve the humanitarian situation inside Syria and its neighbouring countries.
