Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Morsy, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the margins of the 67th General Assembly

The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Morsy, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Secretary-General expressed his concern over the deadlocked situation in Syria, and the alarming regional implications.  They both underlined the need for the international community to take action before the death toll gets even higher. 

They exchanged views on the Arab Spring and also the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territory.
