The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines. The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for the Philippines’ continuous support to the United Nations and commitment to multilateralism as well as international law.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the United Nations’ full support for the Philippines’ Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2026.

The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on international and regional issues.
