Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Marc Ati, MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs, External Trade and International Cooperation of the Republic of Vanuatu

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Marc Ati, MP, Minister for Foreign Affairs, External Trade and International Cooperation of the Republic of Vanuatu.  The Secretary-General recognised Vanuatu’s leadership on the initiatives to request advisory opinions from the International Court of Justice and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea on the obligations of States in respect of climate change.  

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister discussed Vanuatu’s sustainable development and climate resilience priorities.
