Readout of the Secretary-General’s dialogue with Pacific Islands Forum Leaders

The Secretary-General met with the Leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF). The Secretary-General congratulated the Leaders for their recent endorsement of the regional Blue Pacific Ocean of Peace Declaration and the Pacific Resilience Facility Treaty. The Secretary-General and Pacific Islands Forum Leaders discussed the UN80 reform process and the PIF Review of the Regional Architecture as opportunities to improve the lives of Pacific peoples. 

The Secretary-General commended PIF Leaders for their efforts to maintain regional unity and pledged continued UN cooperation on regional priorities, in alignment with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
