Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Sergey V. Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation 

Today, the Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Sergey V. Lavrov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on the latest developments related to the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. They also discussed several aspects of the cooperation between the Russian Federation and the United Nations, including the UN80 Initiative.
