Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone. The Secretary-General and the President exchanged perspectives on the country’s development priorities, including youth employment, the President’s priorities as Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, and the security situation in the Sahel.

The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to support Sierra Leone in advancing its priorities at national and regional level.
