The Secretary-General strongly condemns the reported killing of at least 40 people, including women, children and elderly, during a brutal attack by armed gangs in the Cabaret commune of Haiti's West Department during the night of 11 September. The Secretary-General expresses his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people and the Government of Haiti.
The Secretary-General is alarmed by the levels of violence rocking Haiti and urges the Haitian authorities to ensure that perpetrators of these and all other human rights abuses and violations are brought to justice.
The Secretary-General calls on Member States to expedite efforts towards strengthening the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission with required logistics, personnel and funding to effectively assist the Haitian National Police in addressing gang violence in Haiti in full respect of international human rights law.

Le Secrétaire général condamne fermement le meurtre signalé d'au moins 40 personnes, dont des femmes, des enfants et des personnes âgées, lors d'une attaque brutale menée par des gangs armés dans la commune de Cabaret, dans le département de l'Ouest d'Haïti, dans la nuit du 11 septembre. Le Secrétaire général présente ses sincères condoléances aux familles des victimes, au peuple et au Gouvernement haïtiens.
Le Secrétaire général est alarmé par le niveau de violence qui secoue Haiti y exhorte les autorités haïtiennes à veiller à ce que les auteurs de ces violations et abus des droits de l'homme soient traduits en justice.
Le Secrétaire général appelle les États Membres à accélérer les efforts visant à renforcer la Mission multinationale d’appui à la sécurité (MMAS) en la dotant de la logistique, du personnel et du financement nécessaires afin d'aider efficacement la Police Nationale d’Haïti à lutter contre la violence des gangs en Haïti, dans le plein respect du droit international des droits de l'homme.
