Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Aziz oglu Bayramov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Jeyhun Aziz oglu Bayramov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 
 
The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister discussed the UN-Azerbaijan cooperation, including on the Sustainable Development Goals, and the situation in the South Caucasus. 
 
The Secretary-General expressed concern regarding the recent military escalation in the region and stressed the importance of strict observance of the ceasefire. 
 
He underlined the United Nations’ support for all efforts to achieve full normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan.
