Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen. 

The Secretary-General commended the constructive engagement of the Government of Yemen in the mediation efforts led by Special Envoy Grundberg towards the resumption of an inclusive, Yemeni-led and Yemeni-owned political process under UN auspices with the full and meaningful participation of women. 

They also discussed the humanitarian and economic situation in the country, as well as the importance of protecting civilians.
