Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic. The Secretary-General thanked the President for Portugal’s commitment to advancing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as for its support to United Nations peacekeeping.
 
The Secretary-General and the President discussed efforts needed to strengthen multilateralism and peacebuilding, as well as to advance reforms to the international financial system.
