Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia, and current Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation. The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on peace and security in the Great Lakes region and southern Africa. They discussed, notably, the situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
