Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia   

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia. The Secretary-General appreciated Indonesia’s leadership during its G20 Presidency and looked forward to constructive discussions at the upcoming G20 Summit in Bali. The Secretary-General also looked forward to Indonesia’s Chair of ASEAN in 2023 and pledged continued cooperation between the UN and ASEAN. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed regional and global issues including the situation in Myanmar, the crisis in Ukraine and its global impacts, as well as climate action.
