The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Jean Victor Généus, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Haiti. The Secretary-General and the Minister discussed the seriousness of the security and humanitarian situation in the country compounded by increasing social and economic challenges. They underlined that violence was not acceptable in any form. The Secretary-General expressed the full support and solidarity of the United Nations and encouraged further efforts to build consensus around a peaceful and democratic way forward to ensure the prompt restoration of institutions through elections.

Le Secrétaire général et le Ministre ont abordé la gravité de la situation sécuritaire et humanitaire dans le pays, exacerbée par des défis sociaux et économiques croissants.
