The Secretary-General welcomes the unilateral declaration of a ceasefire across the entire Central African Republic territory from 15 October 2021, announced by the President of the Central African Republic, H.E. Faustin Archange Touadéra. The Secretary-General commends this critical step, which is in line with the Joint Roadmap for Peace in the Central African Republic adopted by the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region on 16 September.
The Secretary-General calls on all the other parties to immediately respect this ceasefire and renew efforts to advance the implementation of the 2019 Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation.
The Secretary-General urges all parties to engage constructively through an inclusive political dialogue with a view to making tangible progress in the peace and reconciliation process in the Central African Republic.
The Secretary-General reiterates his commitment to continue mobilizing the international community to support the Government and people of the Central African Republic in their quest for peace, reconciliation, and development.

Le Secrétaire général salue la déclaration unilatérale de cessez-le feu sur tout le territoire centrafricain à partir du 15 octobre 2021, telle qu’annoncée par le Président de la République centrafricaine, S.E. Faustin-Archange Touadéra. Le Secrétaire général se félicite de cette étape cruciale, qui est conforme à la Feuille de route conjointe pour la paix en République centrafricaine, adoptée par la Conférence internationale sur la Région des Grands Lacs le 16 septembre.
Le Secrétaire général appelle toutes les autres parties à immédiatement respecter ce cessez-le feu et à renouveler leurs efforts pour faire avancer la mise en œuvre de l’Accord politique pour la paix et la réconciliation signé en 2019.
Le Secrétaire général appelle toutes les parties prenantes à s’engager de manière constructive, à travers un dialogue politique inclusif, pour que des progrès tangibles soient réalisés dans le processus de paix et de réconciliation en République centrafricaine.
Le Secrétaire général réitère son engagement à continuer de mobiliser la communauté internationale pour soutenir le Gouvernement et le peuple centrafricain dans leur quête de paix, de réconciliation et de développement.
