Readout of the Secretary-General's meeting with Mr. David Malpass, President of the World Bank Group

The Secretary-General met with Mr. David Malpass, President of the World Bank Group. They discussed global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and noted the need for increased availability of financing for developing countries, including recovery planning and economic growth that are inclusive, sustainable and leave no one behind. They discussed climate finance and the Secretary-General welcomed the World Bank’s leading role to tackle climate change issues in developing countries. They also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan.
