The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The Secretary-General congratulated Viet Nam for its successful work as an elected member of the Security Council during 2020-2021 term.
 
The Secretary-General and the President discussed matters pertaining to UN-Viet Nam cooperation, regional peace and security, and in particular, climate change.
