The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) members voted for the Presidency Council positions on 2 February. No single candidate reached the required 70% threshold within their designated electoral college. As a result, the process has now moved to the second stage of the agreed-upon selections mechanism in order to enable a vote on lists that shall comprise three candidates for the Presidency Council and one for the Prime Minister.
The lists must be submitted no later than 10 PM tonight Swiss Time – February 4, 2021.
The LPDF will convene on Friday to vote on the lists that meet the endorsement criteria as stipulated by the selection mechanism.
