The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, President of Burkina Faso, on the margins of the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations. The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations full support to Burkina Faso as it tackles security and humanitarian challenges in the country.
 
The Secretary-General and President Kaboré also discussed the expanded UN presence and support to Burkina Faso and the need to continue efforts to enhance the capacity of the G-5 Sahel and West African states to respond collectively to the cross-border threat facing the sub-region.

Le Secrétaire général a rencontré S.E.M. Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, Président du Burkina Faso, en marge de la 74ème Assemblée générale des Nations Unies. Le Secrétaire général a réitéré le plein soutien des Nations Unies au Burkina Faso pour résoudre la crise sécuritaire et humanitaire à laquelle le pays fait face.
 
Le Secrétaire général et le Président Kaboré ont également discuté de l’accroissement de la présence de l'ONU et de son soutien au Burkina Faso, ainsi que de la nécessité de poursuivre les efforts visant à renforcer la capacité du G-5 Sahel et des états de l’Afrique de l'ouest à répondre collectivement à la menace transfrontalière qui pèse sur la sous-région.
