The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Iván Duque, President of Colombia. The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations strong support for the peace process, and he welcomed the Government’s efforts in this regard. The Secretary-General expressed his hope for concrete actions to improve the security situation in former conflict areas. The Secretary-General thanked President Duque for the efforts of the Colombian Government to assist Venezuelan refugees and migrants. The Secretary-General welcomed Colombia’s leadership with other countries in the region to preserve the Amazon and its efforts to fight climate change.

El Secretario General se reunió con el Excelentísimo Sr. Iván Duque, Presidente de Colombia. El Secretario General reiteró el firme apoyo de las Naciones Unidas al proceso de paz y acogió los esfuerzos del Gobierno en este sentido. El Secretario General expresó esperanza de que se tomen acciones concretas para mejorar la situación de seguridad en las antiguas zonas de conflicto. El Secretario General agradeció al Presidente Duque por los esfuerzos del Gobierno colombiano para ayudar a los refugiados y migrantes venezolanos. El Secretario General acogió el liderazgo de Colombia, junto con otros países de la región, para preservar la Amazonia y así como sus esfuerzos para combatir el cambio climático.
