The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Sebastián Piñera, President of Chile.
The Secretary-General commended Chile´s contribution to the priorities of United Nations, including the Government’s efforts to strengthen South-South Cooperation.
The Secretary-General congratulated President Piñera for Chile’s leadership on climate change as the host country of the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference to take place in Santiago.
The Secretary-General and the President also discussed regional developments.

El Secretario General se reunió hoy con el Excelentísimo Señor Sebastián Piñera Echeñique, Presidente de Chile
El Secretario General elogió la contribución de Chile a las prioridades de las Naciones Unidas, incluidos los esfuerzos del Gobierno para fortalecer la cooperación Sur-Sur.
El Secretario General felicitó al Presidente Piñera por el liderazgo de Chile en materia de cambio climático como país anfitrión de la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático de 2019 que se celebrará en Santiago.
El Secretario General y el Presidente conversaron también sobre temas regionales.
