The Secretary-General met with Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, who serves as his Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, and H.E. Mr. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister and Minister for General Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Secretary-General congratulated Queen Máxima on her successful efforts to bring financial inclusion to the forefront of the international agenda and they exchanged views on financial inclusion and the 2030 Agenda. The Secretary-General appealed to the Netherlands to support efforts aimed at raising the ambition in addressing climate change.
The Secretary-General and Prime Minister Rutte discussed the Action for Peacekeeping initiative. The Secretary-General thanked the Netherlands for its support in the implementation of Security Council resolution 2396 (2017) on foreign terrorist fighters.
