The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan. 

The Secretary-General expressed the commitment of the United Nations to further its cooperation with Japan in a number of areas. He also welcomed Japan’s new pledges to peace operations and its support to United Nations reforms. 

The Secretary-General also discussed with the Prime Minister the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
