The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Martín Vizcarra, President of Peru. The Secretary-General commended Peru’s role in the Security Council this year and its contributions to UN peace operations. The Secretary-General and the President discussed efforts undertaken to fight corruption and implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed regional developments in Latin America.

El Secretario General se reunió hoy con el Excelentísimo Señor Martín Vizcarra, Presidente del Perú. El Secretario General elogió al Perú por el papel que ha venido desempeñando en el Consejo de Seguridad este año y por sus contribuciones a las operaciones de paz de Naciones Unidas. El Secretario General y el Presidente abordaron los esfuerzos en curso para luchar contra la corrupción e implementar la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. El Secretario General y el Presidente también conversaron sobre temas regionales en América Latina.
