The Secretary-General met H.E. Mr. Peter Paire O’Neill, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea. They discussed the implementation of the Bougainville Peace Agreement. The Secretary-General reiterated the United Nations’ commitment to support the peaceful process.
 
The Secretary-General congratulated Papua New Guinea for its progress in prioritising the Sustainable Development Goals in its development plans. The Secretary-General and the Prime Minister exchanged views on climate change and related challenges.
