Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Mr. Almazbek Atambaev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Secretary-General encouraged the country to continue with its democratic reforms. He also noted the importance of finding a solution to water-related issues in Central Asia acceptable to all its states. 

The President expressed support towards the UN reforms launched by the Secretary-General. The Secretary-General and the President also discussed efforts undertaken toward the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
